On a vibrant evening at Mauji Cafe, Tàarruf proudly hosted the much-anticipated event, Kaghaz Qalam Aur Hum. This gathering of art and expression aimed to celebrate the beauty of Indian languages through the expressive medium of shayari. The atmosphere was charged with passion as performers took the stage, each sharing their unique voice in the rich tapestry of Indian culture.
The event featured a lineup of talented performers, each bringing their own style and perspective to the art of shayari. Surendra Bhatia, Tahseen Kibria, Mandar Thosar, Taufique Azam, Omar Sahab, Dr. Nimarjit Kaur, Imtiyaz Khan and Dr. Jyoti Krishna captivated the audience with their heartfelt verses, connecting with listeners on a profound level. The highlight of the evening was the presence of our esteemed chief guest, Dr. Masood Jami. At 85 years young, Dr. Jami is a retired professor of Urdu and a celebrated author known for his significant contributions to Urdu literature. His works, including Mere desh ki mitti, Dard-e-dil, and Hum tho doobe hain Sanam, have resonated deeply within the global Urdu community.
Dr. Jami’s insights into the importance of preserving language and culture enriched the event. He recited some of his renowned shayari, leaving the audience spellbound and reflective on the nuances of language and its role in shaping our identity.
